我今度の御勘気は世間の失一分もなし
偏に先業の重罪を今生に消して 後生の三悪を脱れんずるなるべし

通解（意訳）
鉄は炎に入れて、熱して鍛え打てば剣となる。賢人、聖人は罵ってみて真価が試されるものである。
日蓮が今回受けた佐渡流罪の罪については、世間（今世）での罪は少しもない。
ただ、過去世の重罪を今生に消滅して、来世に三悪に堕すことを脱れることになるのであろう。
仏法者として生きていく上で、様々な困難に直面し、戦い抜いていくことで、自身の過去世からの宿業が、今世において表面に現れる。
この宿業を取り除くために、「今こそ自分の信心が試されている時だ」と決意し、強い信心で乗り越えることで、自身の宿命転換を成し遂げることができる。
苦難に直面した時こそ、強靭な信心を確立し、強い自分に変わるチャンスなのである。

Iron, when heated in the flames and pounded, becomes a fine sword. Worthies and sages are tested by abuse.
My present exile is not because of any secular crime. 
It is solely so that I may expiate in this lifetime my past grave offenses and be freed in the next from the three evil paths.

Interpretation (liberal translation) 
As Buddhists, as we face various difficulties and fight through, karma from our past world appears on the surface in this world.
To get rid of this karma, you can overcome your fate by overcoming with strong faith; You should decide that "It's time for my faith to be tested."
When you face hardships, you have the opportunity to establish a strong belief and change yourself.
