このやまひは仏の御はからひか・そのゆへは浄名経・涅槃経には病ある人仏になるべきよし とかれて候、
病によりて道心はをこり候なり
この やまい は ほとけ の おん はからい か・その ゆえ は じょうみょうきょう・ねはんぎょう には やまい ある ひと ほとけ に なるべき よし とかれて そうろう、やまい に よりて どうしん は おこり そうろう なり
（あなたがかかった）この病は仏の御計らいであろうか。その理由は、浄名経・涅槃経には「病がある人は仏になる」と説かれている。
病気になったことにより、初めて自分の生死について考えることで、求道心が起こるものである。
