If a teacher has a good disciple, both will gain the fruit of Buddhahood, but if a teacher fosters a bad disciple, both will fall into hell.

If teacher and disciple are of different minds, they will never accomplish anything.

  • All is decided in pupils of the succession.

What's called teacher and disciple is a problem of the awareness of the pupil side. It is never a form. How many times did you meet a teacher? are you near a teacher? do you brag of being an executive? All these are forms. Even if a disciple was in the remote place from a teacher, or even if disciple have not talked directly, disciple has awareness that it is the disciple of the teacher. The true teacher and disciple practices the instruction of the teacher, and a disciple fighting it out for Kosen-Rufu is a teacher and disciple aspect pair. The underlying thing of the teacher and disciple is the awareness that a disciple is directly connected to with a teacher.
