法華経の行者は火と求羅との如し薪と風とは大難の如し - The votary of the Lotus Sutra is like the fire and the kālakula, while his persecutions are like the logs and the wind.

火にたきぎを加える時はさかんなり、大風吹けば求羅は倍増するなり、松は万年のよはひを持つ故に枝を・まげらる、

法華経の行者は火と求羅との如し薪と風とは大難の如し、

法華経の行者は久遠長寿の如来なり、修行の枝をきられ・まげられん事疑なかるべし

ひにたきぎをくわえるときはさかんなり、おおかぜふけばぐらはばいぞうするなり、まつはまんねんのよわいをもつゆえにえだを・まげらる、ほけきょうのぎょうじゃはひとぐらとのごとしまきとかぜとはだいなんのごとし、

ほけきょうのぎょうじゃはくおんちょうじゅのにょらいなり、しゅぎょうのえだをきられ・まげられんことうたがいなかるべし

通解（意訳）

火に薪を加える時には、火は盛んに燃える。大風が吹けば求羅（風が吹くと大きくなると言われている伝説上の生物）は倍増するのである。松は万年の長寿を持つゆえに枝をまげられる。

法華経の行者は火と求羅のようなもので、薪と風は大難のようなものである。

法華経の行者は久遠長寿の如来である。ゆえに松の譬えのように修行の枝を切られ、曲げられることは疑いないのである。

Gosho in English

A fire burns higher when logs are added, and a strong wind makes a kālakula grow larger. The pine tree lives for ten thousand years, and therefore its boughs become bent and twisted.

The votary of the Lotus Sutra is like the fire and the kālakula, while his persecutions are like the logs and the wind. 

The votary of the Lotus Sutra is the Thus Come One whose life span is immeasurable; no wonder his practice is hindered, just as the pine tree’s branches are bent or broken.

Interpretation (liberal translation) 
kālakula : According to The Treatise on the Great Perfection of Wisdom, mythical insects whose small bodies swell rapidly in a strong wind until they are large enough to swallow any living being. The kālakula is also described as a kind of lizard.
